Reports

How reports work

A report is the research you would otherwise do by hand: reading the website, checking LinkedIn, job posts and reviews, and deciding whether now is the moment. Vintoo does it in a few minutes and shows its sources.

Where the information comes from

  • Your profile. Your services, ideal customer, target roles and signals from the organization settings. Every prospect is judged against these.
  • The website of the prospect. What they do, who they serve, how they work and the technology behind the site.
  • LinkedIn. The company page, recent posts and employees with their roles.
  • Google Maps. Company details and reviews that mention a problem or a change.
  • Job posts. Open vacancies, sorted by department and seniority.
  • Web search and news. Recent events such as funding, an acquisition or a new office.
  • Chamber of commerce. Registration details, for Dutch companies.

Searches run in the country you set for your organization. Reports are always written in English.

What happens during a report

  1. Collect. Vintoo gathers the information above, in parallel where it can.
  2. Find signals. Every fact that says something about this company and your offer becomes a signal, for or against approaching them.
  3. Remove duplicates. The same fact from two sources counts once.
  4. Weigh. Each signal gets a weight based on its type, its strength and its age.
  5. Decide. Vintoo answers a fixed set of questions about the company and turns the answers into a verdict.
  6. Find the decision-maker. The person who most likely owns the problem you solve.
  7. Write hooks. Concrete occasions to reach out, taken from the signals that speak for the company.

The questions behind the verdict

Every verdict comes from the same questions:

Fit
Does this company match your offer and your ideal customer?
Pain
Is there a sign that they have the problem you solve?
Timing
Is there a reason why now is a good moment?
Intent
Are they looking for a solution like yours?
Ruled out
Is there a fact that rules them out on its own, such as a recent contract with a competitor?

Each answer rests on the signals. That is why every verdict comes with the facts behind it.

From answers to verdict

Contact
There is a fit and a clear reason to reach out now: a moment in time, or a strong sign of pain or intent.
Wait
There is a fit, but no moment yet. The report names what to watch for.
Don't contact
The company doesn't fit your offer, or something rules it out.
No signal
There is too little information to judge.
Good timing never overrules a bad fit. A company that just raised money is still a skip if it doesn't need what you sell.

Why there is no score

Vintoo doesn't rate prospects from 1 to 100. A score hides the reasoning, and you would still need to read up on the company before writing. A verdict with its reasons tells you what to do and gives you something to say.

How long it takes

A report takes a few minutes. You can keep working in the meantime: the list updates by itself when the report is ready.
